New features
AI Assistant and Screen Health Overview are preview features in this release and will roll out to select partners and customers first. Contact support if you want early access!
AI assistant (preview)
-
Ask the publisher — an AI assistant in the publisher answers questions about your screens, media, bookings, users and licenses, links to the relevant documentation and can take you straight to the right page. It only reads information and never changes anything. A site owner must approve it before it can be used. It's controlled by its own permission, and has a daily and monthly usage limit per user.
-
Data protection — An authorized Site Owner must approve the AI Assistant for the site before anyone can use it. AI Assistant data is processed within Microsoft Azure. For EU customers, processing takes place in Sweden Central, with inference remaining within the Azure EU geography. For Australian customers, storage and logs remain in Australia East, while inference uses Azure Global Standard. Full details are available in the AI Processing Addendum.
Screens
-
Screen health overview (preview) — a new page shows how reliably your screens have been online over a selected period: average online and offline screens, uptime and downtime percentages, the worst day and the best streak, a comparison with the previous month, and a daily chart where you can drill down into the affected screens. You can filter by name, tags, folder, player type, version, status and license. Access is controlled by a new Screen health permission. Screen health will be ro
-
Pre-register screens without serial numbers — one or more screens can now be pre-registered before their serial numbers are known, configured in advance, and connected to their players later. Pre-registered screens reserve a license.
-
Device support in version 10 — in version 10, the screen list and the screen details show each screen's device support status again, labelled Legacy support, Limited support or Unsupported, with a link to the matching hardware documentation. The dashboard shows how many of your screens have limited support.
-
Remembered details layout — whether the player and screen sections on a screen's details are expanded is now remembered across all your sites.
Templates & Smart Media
- Interactions for everyone — interactions are no longer an experimental feature.
- Animation timeline — the template creator now has an animation timeline!
- Office documents in templates — PDF, PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents can be used in templates.
- Video streams — video streams, including YouTube, can be added to templates and Smart Media.
- Sort templates in a category — templates can be sorted within their template category.
- Webpage addresses — https is added automatically when you create a webpage, and a webpage without a protocol can no longer be saved.
- Mute RSS videos — videos in RSS feeds can be muted.
Bookings & channels
- Default schedule — a default schedule can be set for a user profile or an individual user, and it is applied automatically to new bookings.
- Channel content limits — limits on what a channel may contain, such as a fixed resolution or specific media types for e-paper, LED walls or portrait screens, are now also enforced for content that is added automatically, for example through folder synchronization.
- More channel details — the info tab of a channel shows which screens, screen folders and media use it.
- Booking counts — users with group access who cannot edit a channel no longer see its booking counts.
Groups & sites
- Create group resources in one step — when you create a group, you can have a default channel, screen folder, media folder and template category created and connected to it automatically.
- Site details from the avatar menu — the details of your current site can be opened directly, without going through the site list.
Publisher design
- Updated design completed — the move to the updated publisher design is complete, with refinements to shapes, tables, icons and colors throughout.
Integrations
- Sitevision — the archive is now chosen in the presentation settings instead of the connection settings.
- YesPlan — the date filters are no longer fixed, and location and parameters are set in the presentation settings.
Smartsign ID
- Redesigned consent pages — the approval pages in Smartsign ID have a new, clearer design.
Bug fixes
Each entry describes an issue that is fixed in this release.
Performance & stability
- Server caches could hold locks for too long under heavy load, which could cause slow down.
- A search in the media library ignored its page size and fetched every matching item, which made searches slow and could end in an error.
- The template grid fetched far more data than it displayed.
Templates & Smart Media
- Smart Media items created from the same template could show the same channel content instead of their own.
- Smart Media could show channel content from outdated cached data instead of the current channel.
- The interaction panel could open empty.
- Deleting a media item could show the wrong error message.
Screens & registration
- A screen could not be registered when its parent folder had a screen layout.
- The screen layout could be broken after registering a screen.
- On large installations, users could get permission errors after registering a screen.
- Registering a screen could produce errors in the browser console.
- The CHECK button moved when the registration code field showed a validation error.
- Screen information listed channels that were not part of the screen's current layout.
- Moving a screen to another folder from the grid or list view failed.
- The map view showed the wrong number of screens in search results, opened the screen detail panel by default, and did not return to its default state after the search was cleared.
- The loading placeholder was not shown while a folder was loading.
Bookings & scheduling
- Bookings the user had no access to could still be resized in the calendar, and users with group access could run context-menu actions on them.
- A schedule could be set without selecting any days.
- The video quality and resolution warning was missing for the improved basic publish option.
- The loading panel never closed when saving a booking was skipped.
- Copying a booking gave video stream items the wrong duration.
- Uploading media in the media picker broke the layout of the schedule view.
Publisher interface
- After a release, the publisher could show translation keys instead of text until the browser cache was cleared.
- The details of a global state were not displayed correctly on mobile devices.
- Moving an item in a playlist caused extra scroll bars.
- In the screens grid view, screen cards showed through the paginator.
- Input borders disappeared after a successful batch registration, and the close button of an opened playlist item was in the wrong place.
- Tables, surface contrast and dashboard controls looked inconsistent.
- Changes to global states made from a screen did not appear in the publisher until the page was reloaded.
Permissions
- The name of a template could be edited without edit permission.
- The New Profile button was shown to users who are not allowed to create user profiles.
Security
- Fixed a set of minor issues found in a security review of Smartsign ID.
