General

Active

Use the active checkbox to temporarily deactivate a screen to free up the license. This is useful if you are planning to re-use the screen at a later stage but don't want to remove it from your site. Once activated, it will claim a license again.

Fallback image

The fallback image is a backup to show a static image if screens don't have any active bookings or screen is offline with expired playlists when it is supposed to be active. Very good to avoid unintentional black screens. Read more...

Reg-code replace

Reg-code replacement allows you to replace a screen in Smartsign without loosing any content, settings or licenses. Ideal if you are replacing a broken or old screen with a new one. Read more...

Identifier

This is the unique identifier associated with this player and can be used to locate units in the system when troubleshooting.

Width & Height

This indicates the resolution reported by the player. In most cases, resolution can only be changed if the player type supports it. Many embedded player types use a fixed resolution, meaning the resolution controls will be locked and serve only as informational. However, Windows players can be customized with a specific resolution, which is particularly useful for LED displays or stretched screens.

Server

Shows which server the player is connected to. Useful for troubleshooting purposes.

Rotation

Shows the rotation setting for the player. If you wish to use a screen in portrait mode this is something you should configure directly in the screen or player. If you use a PC as a player, you set rotation Windows.

Mute

Controls if the player is muted or not. Device support may vary.

Time zone

The timezone is used to calculate the correct time when synchronizing time from the server.

Use server time

Enable to synchronize time from the server.

Restart days

Controls which days of the week the player should perform a scheduled restart.

Restart Time

Controls the time of day when scheduled restarts are performed.

Server url

The server hostname that the player should connect to. Normally a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or an Ip address.

Real screenshots

Enable this setting and screenshot will be performed on the player device itself if possible. When disabled, screenshot will be simulated on the server instead. This feature cannot be supported on all platforms due to hardware and software limitations in the devices.

Show 'License missing'

Enable this setting to make the player show a message on screen when it's missing a license. If this setting is disabled the screen will only show black/power save if there is no license.

GeoData

Shows the geographical location of a screen or screen folder.

  • City
    • The name of the city where this player is located.
  • Location (GPS)
    • The coordinates where this player is located (latitude, longitude).
  • Country
    • The name of the country where this player is located.
  • Region
    • The name of the region where this player is located.

Request geo data

When enabled, this allows the player to request geolocation data based on the screen’s IP address to determine its location. Disable this option to set the screen (or folder) location manually. Read more...
