Installation

Initial setup (unpacking new display)​

When you turn on your screen for the first time you must complete a setup guide. It can vary slightly between models so the below steps and their order may not be exact.

  1. Language: Select language Select language
  2. Network: Select Wired or connect to Wi-Fi Networking
  3. Clone: SKIP Clone
  4. Signage: SKIP Signage
  5. Initial setup complete Setup complete
  6. If you need to change orientation:
    1. Press HOME on the remote
    2. Select Configuration 2 Configuration 2 OSD
    3. Select System orientation System rotation OSD
    4. Select your desired orientation
    5. Press HOME to exit the menu

Installing Smartsign Android Player​

  1. Download the Smartsign Android Player
  2. Place the APK file on a USB flash drive
  3. Plug the USB flash drive into the device
  4. Using the remote, press HOME 1 6 6 8, this will open the Android shell Select settings
  5. Select Settings -> System -> Date & Time Select system
    Select date/time
  6. Verify that the date and time is accurate, update if necessary Verify time
  7. Use BACK to return to the first page
  8. Select Storage Select storage
  9. Select USB drive on the left and then APKs Select USB then APKS
  10. Select the Smartsign Android Player APK Select APK
  11. Select Install Install
  12. Select Open Open
  13. Approve permissions for Smartsign Android Player when asked Approve permissions
  14. Smartsign Config will launch and a prompt to select which Settings app to use, select the grey on white icon Select grey on white
  15. Allow display over other apps: Find and enable Smartsign Android Player, then close by pressing BACK Allow display over other apps
  16. Select Server Address and input your server (hostname only), then click OK
    • EU Cloud service: eu.smartsigncloud.com
    • AU Cloud service: au.smartsigncloud.com
    • On-premises: Use the hostname or IP that your server is configured with Input hostname
  17. Adjust other settings to your liking
  18. Exit
  19. The player should now launch and show a registration code after a few moments
